The project showcases a large block predominantly occupied by the building, necessitating an innovative approach to landscaping.
Raised planters have been deftly employed, allowing for the incorporation of a diverse range of plant species while navigating the limitations of basement structures. Introducing arbours over the driveway ramps softens the infrastructure’s imposing features, providing a layered visual experience that invites exploration.
Plant selections include resilient species such as Japanese Pines, Californian Fan Palms, evergreen Magnolias, and Bay Trees that thrive in coastal conditions. Meanwhile, upper terraces are adorned with architectural succulents like Dwarf Aloe and Sedums, contributing both form and function.
With multiple entertaining zones, including a proposed rotunda-like terrace, Seacombe Grove harmoniously blends indoor and outdoor living. The neutral palette of travertines and off-whites outside complements the architecture, culminating in a serene landscape that reconciles with its built counterpart.
