Located in Middle Park, the single-fronted Victorian terrace has been restored in collaboration with Conrad Architects to preserve its heritage while embracing contemporary relevance. The landscape plane bestows a lush botanical layer driven by plant selections that balance contrasting foliage and seasonal flowering alongside strategically placed seating areas that encourage moments of quietude and social engagement.
Flowering Crab Apples and Crepe Myrtles provide a backdrop to the lower-lying foundational planting, blooming in the Spring and Summer months to contribute to urban biodiversity and seasonal beauty.
Central to unlocking the residence is an internal light court featuring a Japanese Maple, creating a visual moment when viewed from the side. The rear pool area, with a signature daybed is defined by tundra limestone material treatment, ensuring a seamless indoor-outdoor transition, connecting the interior hearth to outdoor paving. Its silvery-grey tones create a dialogue between the interior and garden, resulting from a close alliance with the architect. The back terrace, equipped with an operable roof, maximises natural light in the living room while maintaining a visual connection to a garden filled with the cyclical changes of fragrant flowering plants.
