A residence designed in collaboration with Wood Marsh Architecture extends across the block's width, following the landscape’s contours and optimising views to shape a harmonious integration within the natural surroundings.
A long driveway defines entry to the acreage property. Informally bordered with established Eucalyptus trees, it leads to a sweeping circular forecourt. A dramatic sculpture presides over the space, which features a concentric circle arrangement of sealed rock and permeable pavers, transitioning to grass. The home’s bold façade, crafted from concrete and charred timber, asserts a fortress-like presence softened by Australian shrubs, trees, and grasses. The residence fosters expansive views across Western Port Bay to the south, forming a wind break to secluded outdoor entertaining and pool areas to the north.
The landscape showcases a semi-manicured feel enhanced by existing trees, resulting in a botanical looseness that counterbalances the formality of the architectural language. Low vegetation and crazy paving hug the built environment, while an angled wall ensures privacy between the entry path and the pool. A Mediterranean planting scheme at the rear intertwines Bougainvillea, citrus trees, English Lavender, and Echium with varied terraces, an outdoor fireplace, an elevated spa, a pergola, and a kitchen garden.
